Heath Retail Center

Heath Retail Center | Case Study | Post Frame Advantage

In January 2008 WC Buildings, LLC of Newark, OH undertook an ambitious building project in Heath, OH for Keinath & Heatwolfe, LLC. The assignment was to construct a four unit commercial building – a strip mall - under the name Heath Retail Center.

New business construction in Heath has always been important to this growing town. This particular construction was of great significance to the community. The Heath Retail Center is located on a busy highway which positively impacts the business community.

The building was designed to have the appearance of a flat roof, but in actuality it has a 2/12 pitch mono truss metal roof system.

The building features embedded posts on the back wall and monolithic footing on the front three walls with posts attached to the top.

There is brick on the front three walls and metal on the back for a maintenance-free exterior. Each unit has a storefront window and door, featuring porch style awnings made of Sunbrella Fabric.

Post-frame design was the basis for the entire project. The customer considered "stick built" construction, but in the end rejected this material as it was not feasible for the timeframe necessary. Post frame also met other important areas to the customer including strong curb appeal, cost, and low maintenance. The building was completed in three months.

The new retail center was a pleasant surprise to everyone traveling State Route 79 through Heath. Patrons complement the building regularly for its beauty and they commend the builders for how fast it was constructed.
